<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><item><title>HDTV from a PC</title><description>Well, I finally got it sort of working - I couldn't get it to stay in&#13;
sync, but then again I was using a GeForce MX440 (not an ATI card as I&#13;
thought).&amp;nbsp; Setting the PC to 1920x1080 got me nothing (probably&#13;
because it wasn't interlaced), but using 1280x720 gave me an&#13;
image.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&#13;
&lt;br&gt;&#13;
It was easy to see, trying to render that kind of detail, how out of&#13;
convergence the rear projection set is; you just don't notice it with&#13;
TV.&amp;nbsp; Convergence within a few pixels doesn't matter for TV, but&#13;
for a computer image, it's a killer when it's off by even that little.&lt;br&gt;&#13;
&lt;br&gt;&#13;
And interlace sucks.&amp;nbsp; It flickered a lot more than I thought it would.&lt;br&gt;&#13;
&lt;br&gt;&#13;
Moral of the story:&amp;nbsp; If you want to use your HDTV as a computer&#13;
display, buy a plasma or LCD monitor, or a projector, but not a rear&#13;
projection CRT-based set.&lt;br&gt;&#13;
