Micrsoft AntiSpyware popped up an alert this morning that "An Unknown Startup Program googledesktopupdate.exe Requires Approval".<br> <br> Apparently Google Desktop Search has the ability to download updates and install them without asking me.  There is no "automatic update" setting that I can see; it just downloaded it and scheduled it to run the next time I reboot.  I assume it's a real Google update because the EXE is digitally signed by "Google, Inc." by VeriSign.<br> <br> If Microsoft did this, people would be screaming bloody murder.<br> <br> Seriously, shouldn't they know better?<br> <br>Thu, 01 Sep 2005 19:17:09 GMT
